Tammy Dittmer

September 21, 1972 — June 8, 2021

Tammy Renee Appelt – Dittmer, age 48, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 as a result of a brain bleed at Logan Health in Kalispell. She was proud to be an organ donor, and her foresight was beneficial to numerous recipients.

She was born on September 21, 1972 in Polson the daughter of Ernest Dan and Renee (LaRocque) Appelt.     She attended schools in Columbia Falls, graduating from Columbia Falls High School and was a four year letter winner. She attended Flight Attendant school in Portland in 1997 and loved every aspect of flying.  With a personality often described as “bubbly”, she took to the air like a fish to water and thoroughly enjoyed her 15 years interacting with pilots and passengers at Cincinnati based Comair, receiving their Ovation Award in 2010.   She met her future husband, Mike on a houseboat trip.  One thing led to another, and they were married May 12, 2006 in Cincinnati. She later earned a real estate license and her reputation as a “people person” was cemented as she made friends with many co-workers and clients at Sibcy Cline in Cincinnati.  Beyond career pursuits, her energy and talents included cooking, baking, and gardening, with brief stints as a faux finish painter at the Dittmer residence and combine driver harvesting wheat in Montana.  She was naturally athletic, enjoyed water skiing and social swims, and spent many days on Whitefish Mountain with family and friends, highlighted by apres ski at the Hellroaring Saloon.  An accomplished traveler and veteran of negotiating the vagaries of flying standby, she was captivated by the wonders of Greece, Italy, and the French Quarter of New Orleans, but was forever a Montana girl-- the vista of Flathead Lake with mountains in the background held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her parents, her brother Dan and his wife Kim and their children, Kelsey, Lane and Danni; her husband Mike Dittmer of Cincinnati, his parents, Wayne and LaVerne, his brother Steve and his wife Debbie and his sister Kathy and her husband Chris and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on June 29th at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church of Taylor Creek (Cincinnati).  Plans for a Celebration of Life in Cincinnati are pending.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Tammy held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 1:00 until 4:00 P.M. on the family farm N.W. of Polson, 34039 W. Camas Road in Polson.
