Betty Jane McNair

June 11, 1955 — September 24, 2024

Ronan

Betty "Jane" (Pound) McNair of Ronan, MT, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024. She was surrounded by her children, after bravely fighting lung cancer. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Art.

Born on June 11, 1955, Jane was a vibrant and adventurous spirit who cherished her family deeply. She grew up in Klamath Falls, Oregon, alongside her parents, Kenneth and Patricia Pound, three sisters, and three brothers. At 17 she met Art, and their lifelong love story began. They married on March 16, 1973, and welcomed their first child, Tobie, in 1974, followed by their son Tommy in 1977. The family later moved to Ronan, Montana, in 1985, where their youngest daughter, TJ, was born in 1986.

Jane's love for her family and zest for life were unmatched. Whether she was enjoying Harley rides with Art, spending time at the lake, or cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events, she was filled with pride and joy for her family. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma who cherished every moment. She always prioritized her family, making time for every special moment and milestone.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, playing pool, bowling, hanging out with her friend Jess at Kwatuqnuk Casino for Sunday Funday, kicking butt at horseshoes, eating chocolate donuts, and being the occasional tambourinist for The Louie Louie Band.

Over the years, Jane worked at Busy Bee, Town Pump, 4Bs, and most recently at Rocky Mountain Twist, where her friendly nature and kind smile made her an admired figure to those who knew her.

After losing her beloved Art in April 2020, Jane courageously navigated the transition from wife to widow, leaning on the love and support of her family and friends. Her sister Jeanne was a constant source of support and together they made precious memories, deepening their bond.

Jane was always up for an adventure; whether it was whitewater rafting, zip lining, or as of recent; riding the Alpine Slide in Lakeside. She lived life with a laid-back, go-with-the-flow attitude that inspired everyone around her.

Jane leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and countless cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Patricia Pound; brothers Kenny and Rick Pound; sisters Kelly Pound and Nancy Seratt; and beloved husband Art McNair.

She is survived by her children Tobie (Tom) Stack, Tommy McNair, TJ (Tyler) Crockett, and her grandchildren Brennon, Kylie, Bryson, Zoe, Kenslie, Adrienne, Peyton, and great-grandbaby Stella.
