Faye Ellen Morgan

Faye Ellen Decker Morgan, a beloved mother, wife, Nana, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, surrounded by family in her home in Ronan, MT. Born on July 24, 1953, Faye was one of the first babies born at the new St. Luke Hospital in Ronan, MT. Faye lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and others.

Faye was the sixth child of eight born to Irvin and Marie Arlint Decker. She spent her childhood playing with siblings on the farm west of Ronan and later in the North Crow area. She was “daddy’s girl”. Her 1st grade teacher at Ronan Elementary, Mrs. Ledesky, would walk Faye over to see her Daddy at the blacksmith shop across the street at lunchtime to help sooth her during the long school day. Faye was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ronan. Faye graduated from Ronan High School in May of 1971. 

Faye worked various jobs in the Ronan area. She provided homecare services through Lake County Council of Aging and was a Direct Support Professional for Mission Mountain Enterprises. She loved a good game of pinochle, and won the Pinochle Championship, along with her partner, sister Kathy, at Decker Days in 2008. She was active in the VFW Auxiliary and supported her family with all their various activities. 

Faye married the love of her life, Dale Everett Morgan, on June 4, 1971. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in June of 2021. Together they raised three children: Shawn, Amy and Jonathan. Faye’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. 

Faye was a proud Nana to five grandchildren: Austin (Shayla), Joshua (Micaela), Jaelynn, Kadynce and Katlin; and eight great-grandchildren Avianna, Emmery, Jaymie, Beau, Bryisen, Hayden, Lincoln and Elaina. 

Faye was preceded in death by her husband Dale; her parents Irvin and Marie Arlint Decker; nephew Brian Decker and her sister-in-law Linda Powell Decker. 

In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her siblings Ted Decker (Ronan); Robert (Fern) Decker (Hamilton); Gary (KaDe) Decker (Morganton, NC); Gale (Suzie) Decker (Ronan); Susan (Dan) Heppner (Polson); David (Julie) Decker (Charlo) and Kathy (Jerry) Loscheider, (Litchfield Park, AZ). She is also survived by Christina (Vern) Mills; Daniel Hunter; Henry Hunter and Jodi Hunter along with the Decker, Arlint, Reum and Roske extended families.

Faye will be laid to rest beside her husband, Dale, at the Ronan Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ronan. Family and friends are welcome to join in a meal after the service at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
