Lewis Conklin

Lewis LaVerne Conklin was born to Ernest and Bertha Conklin in Curtis, Nebraska on January 26, 1936. He had 5 sisters; Leila, Arlene, Myrna, Elaine, Sharon and 2 brothers Leo and Bob.

As a young child the family moved to LaPorte Colorado. Lewis graduated from LaPorte High School in 1953. In 1956 he joined the Navy and served until 1960.

Upon returning from the Navy he met and married Jackie Fogland in 1961. Together they had 5 children, Dawn (Chris) Schultz, Jay(Janna) Conklin, Gene (Joell) Conklin, Dyan (Mark) Fiorentino, Lynn (Angela) Conklin.  They had 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In 1973 the family moved to Ronan, MT. Lewis and Jackie divorced in 1976.

In 1978 Lewis married Connie Bocksnick and adopted Sue (Shannon). They had three children, Verna (Chris), Lisa (Casey) and Levi (Tiffany). They have 2 grandchildren.

Lewis loved to tell stories and write about his life. He enjoyed taking his boys to work with him at Mission Valley Concrete.

Graveside Services will be held in June.
