Lorie Ann Noble Sharbono, age 63, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at her residence. Lorie was born in Ronan, Montana on August 26, 1961, at Saint Luke Hospital, the daughter of Jerry and Irene Noble on August 26, 1961.
She graduated from Ronan High School in 1980. After high school Lorie worked at several different places along the way, some of those were Service Inc on Main Street of Ronan, R&R Drug Store on Main Street, the Ronan Bank, now named Glacier Bank, The Valley Bank and then Retired from there to care for and accompany her husband. While in High School, Lorie worked for the Ronan Police Department as a dispatcher and didn’t realize that at the time she was working with Glen’s mother.
Lorie and Glen celebrated their 30th Anniversary on the third of September. Over the last ten years or so they became heavily involved in the American Legion and its Auxiliary. Lorie founded the local Auxiliary Unit for Ronan and was its longtime President. Her main goals were helping Veterans like her husband Glen as they traveled across the state of Montana promoting the organization’s membership and programs. She poured her heart into helping build up the newly acquired North Crow Club House which is now the new Ronan American Legion Post #138 and Unit #138 home. As the Auxiliary President Lorie helped the Unit and Post earn 7 Legion Family ribbons for exceeding 100% membership and promoting their programs. Her biggest efforts were the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State and the High School Constitutional Oratory contest. She served as a runner and guardian of the contestants for the Oratory contest. Lorie always looked forward to the new group of young people that would come to participate in the programs. Lorie served several years as and was currently the Department Sergeant at Arms for the State of Montana’s Department Auxiliary. Some of the personal accomplishments she was most proud of was scoring 100% on the American Legion Basic Training Course, and graduating from the Department of Montana Legion College that her husband Glen was the instructor for as well as the Dean of the College.
Lorie had a very infectious smile and could quickly touch the lives of anyone she met. So much so, that the Women Veterans of the Department of Montana made her an Honorary Woman Veteran. She was considered by The Veterans Honor Guard to be their Historian photographer and mascot.
She was preceded in death by her mother Irene.
She is survived by her father Jerry Noble, sister Sandy Noble, a stepson from a previous marriage John Harmon, four stepsons through her husband Glen, Shawn, Jesse, Dusty and Kirby, as well as 10 step grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Lorie retained her maiden name to honor her father who had no sons.
Lorie was simple and down to earth and did not want a big flashy funeral or a fancy casket. She said I just want a plain wooden casket and to be buried. But the family decided to keep the service simple but there needed to be a way for family and friends to have a chance to say goodbye. Lorie also thought that lots of flowers were a little over the top and would appreciate that instead of flower donations be made to the Ronan American Legion Auxiliary Unit #138. Please send checks to ALA Unit #138 502 Bayview Dr. Polson MT 59860.
