Robert John Kain

Robert John Kain, age 77, of Dixon, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson due to end stage COPD. He was born on September 16, 1946, in Hamilton to Fred and Mabel (Smith) Kain.

Bob graduated from Dixon High School in 1965. Bob enjoyed basketball, playing for the Dixon Demons all four years of high school. He also enjoyed hunting from a young age.

On September 4, 1971, Bob married Janice Doris Boland in Hood River, Oregon. The couple lived in Spokane, Washington and the Dalles, Oregon for a short period of time before moving to Dixon in late 1972. There Bob continued his love of basketball, playing on the “town” team and being able to hunt familiar and favorite areas. He then also began enjoying gardening and maintaining the yard and home.

Bob was always hard working, truthful and honest. He was a wonderful father and loving husband and will be missed by all those who loved and knew him.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mabel; three brothers, his older brother Bill and two younger brothers Steve and Brett.

He is survived by his wife Janice of Dixon; one son Kevin (Heather) of Dixon; one grandson Kody (Alyson) of Oklahoma City, OK; one great-granddaughter Adalynn age 2; one brother Ron of Charlo; two sisters, Susan (Bill) of Libby; and Lois (Mark) of Plains; one brother-in-law Gary Boland (Kathy) of Hayden, ID along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
