Sharon Ruth Carter Guenzler, age 74 of Charlo, MT went to be with her Lord in Heaven, Saturday, June 2, 2018. She was born July 27, 1943 in Ronan to Clay and Huldah Carter.
As a young girl Sharon grew up on the family farm with her parents and 10 siblings on Leon Road. She had many fun times playing games with her family and her niece and nephew Chuck and Cheri Olson. Some of her favorite games were “No Bears are out Tonight” and “Hide and Seek.” The best place for this was in the garden, and she was often scolded for trampling the corn and squash.
Sharon graduated from Charlo High School in 1962. Later that fall she met the love of her life (although she didn’t know it at the time). She met George, a handsome cowboy that was moving cattle past her house as she was getting the mail. Later that same night fate played a part in crossing their paths at the Moiese Beet Haulers Ball where he introduced her to the Daisy Jug and convinced her to allow him to give her a ride home.
George and Sharon were married April 20, 1963 and have spent 55 years tormenting and loving each other.
Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. She loved music, singing, playing cards and gambling whether the double pinochle was coming her way. She also loved Bingo. Sharon was loved by many due to her generous nature. She was known for bringing cakes and her infamous buns to community functions. Sharon loved sending cards to friends and neighbors to lift their spirits. In the later years she enjoyed watching her grandchildren show cattle and rodeo. Most recently she loved watching her great grandchildren run the barrels and play T-ball.
Sharon is survived by her husband George Guenzler of Charlo; her son Paul (Sharon) Guenzler of Ronan; her daughter Sheila Rigby of Ronan; her son Corey (Carrie) Guenzler of Hot Springs; six grandchildren; Sarah, Levi, Laurel, Ashley, Chance, and Coby; as well as four great grandchildren; Sydney, Kaycee Jo, Cambri, and Rhett. She is also survived by one brother Marvin (Sue) Carter of Laurel, and a sister Trudy (Merle) Farrier of Hot Springs.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clay and Huldah Carter; and siblings; Hester Carter, Gary Carter, Del Carter, Irene Olson, Bill Carter, Fern Scott, Ernie Carter, and most recently Clarabelle Barsness.
