Steven Larson

October 11, 1950 — October 21, 2017

Saturday, October 21 2017, Opening Day of Hunting Season, Steve C. Larson, passed away at Providence St. Patrick Hospital with his family by his side.

Steve was born October 11, 1950 to Orville and Lenoir Larson in Polson, Montana. He was raised in Ronan and played all the sports; basketball, football and baseball. In 1969, immediately after high school, Steve joined the US Army and was sent to Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1972.

Steve returned home and for a short time worked for the City of Ronan. Don Olsson Sr. reached out to Steve in regards to working for Ronan State Bank as the landscaper, or as his Dad used to say, the Lawn Officer.

Steve married Cynthia Harriman from Post Creek; they had two children, Laura and Steven.  Steve raised his children on Little Marten Road outside of Ronan. Throughout his 32-year career with the Olsson’s, Steve had numerous high school kids working for him, including his daughter and son, and he taught them that hard work was expected and appreciated.  His main hobby was hunting and he did a lot of it, whether it was big game, waterfowl or upland game, you could find him outside in any season.  Coaching baseball plus traveling with Laura to watch Steven play ball was a family affair, it was a large part of his life.

Steve is survived by his Children and Granddaughter:  Laura Larson-Krahn and her husband Brendon, Steven Larson and his wife Jessica and Granddaughter Thea. His Brother and best Friend; Lucky (Teresa) Larson.  Sisters: Judy (Gale) Albert, Donna Larson (Lynn) Shulund, Stacy Larson (Steve Damron).  Nephews: Todd (Morgan) Newman, Mark (Carla) Albert, Rodd (Tishanna) Newman. Brandon (Whitney) Larson.  Nieces; April (John) LaRocque. Chanelle (Vincent) Hawkins . Kaylee (Micky) Cheff, and his faithful Black Lab/Terrier, Sadie.

A special thank you to his long time friends Carol Bryant and Dan Demming.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Lenoir Larson, his wife, Cynthia Harriman-Larson, and his brother Daniel William (Danny Bill) Larson.
