Sassy, Swiss creator Vivienne Lou Hunter, age 93, left this earth August 26, 2024, in Ronan. Viv was born to Evelyn and Georges Ritter in Milwaukee, WI, February 1, 1931. Education took her to Iowa State where she met her true love, Ron. Upon graduation she got a job at the 1st PBS station in the nation as a Graphic Artist.
Viv married and followed Ron on his adventures serving with the USFS. Their 1st home was at a 9,000 ft lookout at Medicine Point in the Bitterroot. The family grew when they welcomed son, Reed, while at the ranger station in West Fork & in Bigfork when they added Julie. The family spent 4 memorable years stationed in Elk City, ID living a rustic existence. A stop in Butte had Viv teaching Adult Ed. The family finally found a home in Missoula. While in Missoula, Viv taught at the Vo-Tech & became the Director of the Opportunity Workshop.
When true love ended, Viv entered a new chapter. Viv became a licensed Real Estate agent with Lambros. She had many adventures and traveled the world becoming a strong and independent woman, often giving of her time. A true highlight of her life was serving on the board of MCT for 30 years. She also knitted mountains of mittens for the Missoula school district and made quilts to donate with her friends at Atonement Lutheran & Martha's Ministry.
In this season of her life, Viv hunted and found her happy place at King's Point on Flathead Lake. While there she continued refining her creative pursuits in quilting composing complex color centric designs. Her family has fond memories there in her welcoming A frame home and will always thank her for that. After Reed's passing, Viv moved to Ronan to be closer to family.
Viv is survived by daughter Julie (Willard) Moore, grandchildren Jurine (Zach) Elkins & Bill Moore, great-grandchildren Dexter & Fox Elkins & Eleanor Moore. We love you, Lady Viv.
